Leszek A. Maciaszek (Ph.D. University of Economics, Wroclaw ~ Poland) is an Associate Professor of Computing at Macquarie University, Sydney ~ Australia. He has been developing application and system software for mission-critical business information systems for the past thirty years. Leszek is an academic and industry consultant with experiences from countries on four continents. His main areas or research and expertise have been in the design and implementation of enterprise applications, in databases, and in object technology. Leszek's vast list of published contributions includes a number of textbooks and reference books. Main past book titles are: "Database Design and Implementation" (Prentice Hall, 1990) and "Requirements Analysis and System Design. Developing Information Systems with UML" (Addison Wesley, 2001). The latter has been translated to several languages and the second edition is due in mid 2005. Originally from Poland, Leszek lives in Australia since 1985. |

Bruc Lee Liong is a Ph.D. student and tutor at Macquarie University, Sydney ~ Australia. He has been developing object-oriented applications for the past eight years. In the spirit of agile software development, he considers programming the focus of software production. He specializes in enterprise system integration, linking application clients with web and application services down to database servers. Bruc's research is in the area of metrics, frameworks and patterns for development of supportable (maintainable and scalable) systems and the tools to automatically measure supportability in developed software. Originally from Indonesia, Bruc lives in Australia since 1995. |

| Stephen Bills is the Media Systems Director for Nielsen Media Research in Sydney - Australia. He has been developing systems and consulted to large corporations and government for over 30 years. For the last 12 years, Stephen has had responsibility for the development of software applications for Nielsen Media Research in Australia. In 2002, Nielsen Media Research completed implementation of a major system for their Advertising Expenditure business. This system was developed using object oriented principles and technologies and it forms part of the background for this book. |
