Instructions on how to fill in your timesheet
To help you with filling in your timesheets, we are
providing you:
1. An e.copy of the HR
timesheet form customised for use in Computing
2. A sample time sheet
To make things simple, we suggest that you create a
template of a timesheet based on your personal timetable for this
semester. Each fortnight simply fill in
the dates and delete any classes that you have not taken or add extra classes
that you have taken, for that period.
Most of the time, there should not be many changes and you will have to
only add in the dates.
The sample gives you an idea of what needs to be
filled in that is all the bits in the red font.
The Timesheet cut-off dates are pasted onto the
Timesheet Box in the tea room and are also part of the Induction Booklet.
Some important instructions to follow:
- A Mixed Class comprises one hour of Tutorial + one hour of
Practical (unless advised otherwise.)
If working a Mixed Class, please enter the first Tutorial worked in
the week for that particular unit as a Tutorial and any subsequent
tutorials as Repeats.
- Signed copies of timesheets must be submitted, either into the box
or by fax.
- Please submit your timesheets as soon as you have finished work
for the fortnight. You do not need
to wait for Monday 5 pm. This helps
spread our workload, rather than we are rushed to check and approve them
all the next morning.
- If you chose to use the e.copy please do not alter anything on the
form as it has been customised it for use in Computing.
- Please do not change the font, as this adversely affects our
eyesight.
- If you have more than one sheet per fortnight, please total up
each sheet separately – do not say “1 of 3”, “2 or 3” etc.
- Do not staple or fold the sheets – simply drop them into the
Timesheet Box. They are very safe
there! Folding or stapling makes
scanning and photocopying difficult.
- Cathy Wright, ICS HR Mgr., has returned approved timesheets
for the following reasons – untidy handwriting, using ditto marks for the
Job Numbers (these can be confused with the number 11), wrong job numbers,
overwriting, late submissions, incomplete information etc. – therefore
please be as clear as you can when filling them out.
Thank you.
