Description of Computing Laboratories (E6A - First Floor)



As a condition of using the Computing Laboratories, you are required to read the Information Technology Security Policy and Rules governing the use of the computing and communications facilities at Macquarie University.


Computing Facilities are only available to students for purposes directly related to their academic programs. Students violating this (playing computer games, using facilities for non computing units or personal use) may have their access rights withdrawn for a period of time !!

E6A110 - 100 Level PC Lab

This laboratory has forty-two PC's, each running MS Windows XP Professional. This 100 level laboratory is used by first year students who are enrolled in a 100 level computing subject. Each student requires a computer account to be able to log in and access the software. The laser printer named "e6a110-laser" is located in this lab.

Help101 - a help desk where tutors are available for consultation on 100-level units, is also situated in this lab. Look to the left as you enter the lab.

E6A112 - 100 Level PC Lab

This laboratory has thirty-two PC's, each running MS Windows XP Professional. This 100 level laboratory is used by first year students who are enrolled in a 100 level computing subject. Each student requires a computer account to be able to log in and access the software. The laser printer named "e6a112-laser" is located in this lab.

E6A114 - 300 Level PC Lab

This laboratory has twenty-four PC's each running MS Windows XP Professional. This 300 level laboratory is used by third year students who are enrolled in a 300 level computing subject. Each student requires a computer account to be able to log in and access the software. It has X-Windows software to access the third year unix server pompeii. The printer named "e6a114-laser" is located in this lab.

E6A119 - 300 Level PC Lab

This laboratory has thirty-four PC's (with zip drives) each running MS Windows XP Professional. This 300 level laboratory is used by third year students who are enrolled in a 300 level computing subject. Each student requires a computer account to be able to log in and access the software. It has X-Windows software to access the third year unix server pompeii. The printer named "e6a119-laser" is located in this lab.

Help301 - a help desk where tutors are available for consultation on 300-level units, is also situated in this lab. Look to the left as you enter the lab.

E6A121 - 200 Level PC Lab

This laboratory has thirty-four PC's each running MS Windows XP Professional. This 200 level laboratory is used by second year students who are enrolled in a 200 level computing subject. Each student requires a computer account to be able to log in and access the software. It has X-Windows software to access the second year unix server titanic. The printer named "e6a121-laser" is located in this lab.

Help201 - a help desk where tutors are available for consultation on 200-level units, is also situated in this lab. Look to the right as you enter the lab.

E6A123 - 200 Level PC Lab

This laboratory has thirty-four PC's each running MS Windows XP Professional. This 200 level laboratory is used by second year students who are enrolled in a 200 level computing subject. Each student requires a computer account to be able to log in and access the software. It has X-Windows software to access the second year unix server titanic. The printer named "e6a123-laser" is located in this lab.

E6A127 - BTech Lab

This laboratory has twenty-one Xterminals for the BTech program only. It has eleven PC's each running MS Windows XP Professional for only the BTech program and the Postgraduate program.
