Computing Honours Scholarships
There are a number of honours scholarships available for honours students in Computing. For scholarships in 2008, those current are as below. Please contact Mark Dras (Honours Convenor) for more details.
- Macquarie Higher Study Scholarships:
This is Macquarie's new scholarship scheme. See here for details. Applications have closed for 2008.
- Department of Computing
Scholarships ($2500 to $5000):
The Department of Computing will award up to 3 Honours Scholarships on a competitive basis. Applicants will be ranked on academic merit, determined principally by their GPAs. Normally, applicants should have a GPA greater than 3.25 (or equivalent from another university) to be eligible.
Students will be considered automatically; there is no need to apply separately.
- Apple
Scholarships ($4000):
The AUC Honours Scholarship program is available to domestic full- and part-time students of AUC member universities who are in their honours year. Each Scholarship is worth $4000.
Applications are accepted from students enrolled in a broad range of disciplines, including the Sciences, Humanities, Engineering, Arts, Health and Business with a focus on using Apple technologies as part of their Honours Project.
Applicants must be undertaking a full-year research project that in some way depends on or uses uniquely Apple technologies. Incidental use of a Macintosh does not, in and of itself, qualify. For example, research conducted using a general cross-platform application (such as MATLAB, Office, or SPSS) that was coincidentally conducted on the Macintosh would not attract support.
The Scholarships are valued at $4000 with extra funding for conference attendance and publication. Applications close on Friday, 28 February 2008.
